How to Crochet a Mini Christmas Stocking | Tutorial
Perfect as a gift card holder, to put a travel size hand sanitizer, a few mini candy canes, chapstick, sample size skincare or makeup, etc.
I made these for the officers in my hubby's battalion, and I put a mini travel size hand sanitizer in each of them.
This can also be used as a plain ornament to hang on your tree as a Christmas décor.
Crochet Pattern
I used Red Heart yarns (white and cherry red), and a 5.75mm crochet hook.
Ch 20, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch 1 (does not count as a st here or throughout)
- Row 1: one sc in each ch around, sl st to first sc at the end of the round (20 sts total)
- Rows 2—9: one sc in each st all around; sl st to first sc at beginning of row (20 sts total)
- Rows 10 and 11: ch 1, one hdc in next seven sts, one dc in the next six sts, one hdc in the next seven sts; sl st to first hdc at the end of round (20 sts total)
- Rows 12—17: one sc in each st all around; sl st to first sc at beginning of row (20 sts total)
- Row 18: ch 1, *(sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog) repeat until end; sl st to first sc at the end of round
- Row 19: ch 1, *(sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog) repeat until end
- Row 20: ch 1, *(sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog) repeat until end
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Turn stocking inside-out, thread in tail to close the hole at the bottom of stock, weave in the remaining tail.
White Border: Attach white yarn to any st at the top of stocking; ch 1, hdc in same st; hdc in each st around; sl st to first hdc at the beginning of round (20 st around).
Repeat another row of hdc all around, fasten off. Thread a ribbon for hanging.
