How to Crochet Mini Handbag | Tutorial
This is super cute for yourself or a little girl.
You can also do it all in one yarn color.
The handle can be as long as you want, from a handbag to shoulder bag, or even a cross-body bag.
Use a thicker yarn or cotton yarn for durability.
Crochet Pattern:
Magic circle
- Row 1: 12dc into ring, sl st into first dc
- Row 2: ch 1, 2dc all around, sl st to first dc
- Row 3: ch 1, *(2dc, dc) all around, sl st to first dc
- Row 4: ch 1, *(2dc, dc, dc) all around, sl st to first dc
- Row 5: ch 1, dc into next 15 sts, sl st into next st, fasten off
Back: Make the back of the purse by repeating the same 5 rows, fasten off
Align the two pieces together, make sure the right sides are facing outwards
- Row 6: attach the two pieces with a sc into each st around (leave the 15 sts unworked, as the opening), fasten off
- Row 7: attach a different color yarn into the first sc from the previous row; *sc, skip a st, shell (5dc into same st) — repeat all around; sl st in the last st
Handle: make a ch the length you want (long ch for crossbody/purse, medium ch for shoulder bag, and short ch for handbag/wristlet); connect the other end of the ch by sl st to the other side; turn, dc into second ch from hook, dc down the length of the ch, sl st, fasten off
